Merry Christmas one and all!

Twenty-Second Tiny Moment

Apologies again about the poor quality uploads this week. In the next two days they should be fixed.

Twentieth Tiny Moment

No access to a scanner today, so you'll have to make do with this photographed version. This'll probably be the case in the run up to Christmas, but I'll replace them soon with lovely sparkly scans!

Eighteenth Tiny Moment

I also fell off my bike today. Maybe that would have been more interesting to hear about?

Seventeenth Tiny Moment

I must apologise for today's tiny moment. Drawn after midnight, in the bar, after a long day. Will try harder tomorrow!

Sixteenth Tiny Moment

A little rest from seeing my stupid face.

Fifteenth Tiny Moment

Mary loves a little Star Trek. She even guest illustrated the doodle!

Fourteenth Tiny Moment

A superhero moment from my early years. Is hysterical terror heroic?

Intermission Two.

Hi all,
Fourteen days in. Yes! Power to the 100dayers! Just a little note to say that I have a wee comic on sale at the moment for those who are interested.

It's a short collection of comic book essays on Film Theory, exploring some odd little film ideas that I like. It's black and white and 24 pages long and if you buy it soon it *might* arrive in the post before Christmas, which would be nice!

You can buy it from my other blog:

www.edwardmaross.blogspot.com

It costs a measly £4 (that's including p+p), but if you're a little poor and live in Edinburgh, it's also available from a number of fine establishments for £3:

Filmhouse, Avalanche, Deadhead Comics, Wordpower Books and Elvis Shakespeare.

Twelfth Tiny Moment

I'm fascinated by what I'll get to see in my lifetime, so long as I survive long enough. And how different will the lives of our children be to ours, just a generation apart, but separated by a chasm of progress. Either that, or things actually won't change that much, and I'll be sorely disappointed.

Still, no matter the march of progress for technology, I guess we'll all wind up the same way.

Tenth Tiny Moment

Ten days in... my patricidal past revealed.

Ninth Tiny Moment

A different approach today. This one was entirely digitally painted over a photograph I was given after my Grandpa passed away.

Eighth Tiny moment.

Just minutes before this happened I was telling Mary how nothing had happened today to put on paper. And suddenly, a realisation...

Sixth Tiny Moment

I can't work out whether this memory is real or not. It feels real enough, but I can't see how at such a young age, I'd manage to make sense of the world around me. I'm assured that these things did happen as my family drove from Scotland to visit relatives in Zurich in a small Opel car (the symbol seen around the final sentence). Maybe my memories are a mix of the story told to me of the journey in later life, combined with sensory memories of the sights and smells of the journey.

Fifth Tiny Moment

Though it's not manly, I do a bloody amazing meercat impression.

Fourth Tiny Moment

I woke up this morning and decided that I'd let the people of Edinburgh audition for a role in today's strip. They didn't disappoint!

Intermission: Tonsil Trouble!

The Pictish Trail has committed to recording a 30 second song for his 100 days. Struck down with tonsil trouble just three days in, The Hundred Days project asked for help recording a song in his stead. I don't have those skills, so drew a 30 second song to do my bit. Us 100 dayers have to stick together!

Third Tiny Moment

Not a single tiny moment so much as a series of increasingly panicked tiny moments over a number of years.

First Tiny Moment

My first of 100 tiny moments from my past, present and future. I actually drew two and a half comics today, but nothing was sparking until I got this one down.

Introduction.

I happened upon 'One Hundred Days To Make Me A Better Person' through the blog of Fence musician The Pictish Trail. Set up by Josie Long, the idea is to spend a part of every day from December 1st making yourself a better person for 100 days.

I'm not really one for self-improvement, but this sounded like a good idea. So, for the next one hundred days I'm going to spend a little time each day illustrating a tiny moment from my past, present or an imagined moment from my future. The quality will vary wildly I'm sure, from those days where I've only a few moments to spare, to those where I get all caught up trying to create something exceptional. But the important thing is that I post something every day.

I'm a little apprehensive about this. I'm shy by nature, so opening up my life to the people of the internet is a bit of a leap. Still, it's got to be done. And what'll you know if I just start making stuff up?
